Tsukimi: Enjoying Moon Viewing and Dango

Good afternoon from Tokyo! Were you able to see the Supermoon in your region?

It is said that the moon is the brightest and most beautiful in mid-autumn. To enjoy the beauty of the moon around this time of the year, in Japan, we hold a moon viewing event called "Tsukimi," a tradition brought in from ancient China.

How do Japanese people celebrate Tsukimi? Traditionally, people would admire the round, bright moon quietly, while offering dango (dumplings) and satoimo (taro potatoes) to the moon in an alter.

To this day, many people still like to eat dango during the Tsukimi season. So here's an easy and delicious dango recipe that you can make at home!
